Sounds of silence

Buildings withdraw on either side

Lights flash and flee 

There's the music on again.

Beats and voices rhythmic and recurring

You tap and hum

sing and drum

there's honking and

occasional cursing.

Motors and tires

roar and screech.

There's talking and laughter

on the radio.

Its contained, echoed,

deflected.

Chimeric Shadows

blotch face contours.

the road continues to slip beneath tires.

A lonely sodium orange witnesses

my return.

We stop and

All i remember

up my stairs

is how our silence sounds.

Mundane TV heroes yelling punch dialogues

Echoes of a plastic bucket filling with water

a old man coughing and a whining dog

A newly whirring washing machine
